Below is are the some important facts regarding the tax credit. This credit is only available this year, so take advantage!

Credit can be claimed on 2008 Tax Return by filing by April 15th, by amending your 2008 Tax Return, or your 2009 Tax Return. Please consult your tax advisor.

10% of home purchase up to 8K maximum


All principal residences eligible

Refundable- meaning after eliminating your tax liability the rest is refunded to you!

Income Limits: Under 75K or 150K for joint filers

Eligibility: 1st time home buyers or those who haven't owned in the last 3 years

Repayment:  No repayment if the home owner stays in the home for 3 years

Hi Nogui - The best part of the $8,000 tax credit is that it does not have to be repaid if you purchased the home between January 1, 2009 and December 1, 2009.  Buyers need to know that in order to take advantage of the credit is that they have to close the deal on or before December 1, 2009.
